Trip in Ho Chi Minh City

IMG_5752 Last month I was in Ho Chi Minh City and had a wonderful meal in Nam Bo Restaurant.  This restaurant is located in District 5 and the food is simply delicious. The prices are very reasonable.

IMG_5718 IMG_5716 We had the steam fish wrapped in a mellon. Very delicious but be careful of the bones.

The next day we had the opportunity to travel down to My Tho and had a tour of the Mekong Delta. IMG_5722 IMG_5747 It was certainly a very enriching experience. It cost us 90,000 Dong for the boat  tour. And we had a very sumptuos lunch on one of the island which cost 2.200,000 Vietnamese Dong ( US$122).

Very Delicious Food in Macau

Two weeks back I was in Macau and was introduced to this fantastic restaurant.  The food is just scrumptuous and if you ever travel to Macau don't miss out this restaurant.  The food is great and the price is very reasonable.

IMG_5392 For the five of us the meal cost only HK$500.

The restaurant is unpretentious and if we were not brought there by a local we probably wouldn't go to this restautrant. In case you are going there do remember to book first as the waiting time could be 1 hour without booking.IMG_5399 Well the name is as shown in this photo.

New Zealand Convention

On 25 to 29 Nov I was in Rotorua , New Zealand for our company's annual convention.

We have the opportunity to travel down to Lake Taupo about an hour's drive from Rotorua and along the way we visited Haka Falls.

Well, enjoy the video of a short commentary on Haka Falls.

Bay Run & Army Half Marathon

This year's Bay Run was much more pleasant than the previous year and in fact many of the traffic junctions we have to cross in previous year were gone.  Credit must go to the organiser for planning this year's route.

Image015 The run across the Marina Barage was an excellent idea. Here is a phot of Puay Hee and myself taking a break at the barage with the Singapore Flyer in the background

Image013 Matthew was a great running partner this year.  He was with me all through the run although I believe he could do much better timing.

The only drawback was overcrowding.  With a total participation of 70,000 of which 25,000 did the half marathon would been that the whole route was choked packed. Well the weather was good and we certainly enjoyed the scenery.

Our Trip To Salzburg

Yes I am back after a two months break from blogging.

I did mention in my earlier blog to share about my trip to Salzburg.  Well, here is it:

IMG_2658 This was taken in St Stephen's Cathedral in the heart of Vienna.  It was a pleasant surprise for Miriam and myself to see the cathedral so well lit only to realise that they were doing some filming inside.

Salzburg is the birth place of Mozart and on our way there we got to see the beautiful Salzkammerger landscape with its mountains and its numerous lakes. However, the must see place is Mozart's birth place.

IMG_2672 This is the courtyard before we visit the museum in the background.  This is located in the Gerreidegasse about 15 minutes on bus from the Central train station.  Do join the walking tour which cost around 15 Euro per person.  The guide is very knowledgeable and spoke in German and English.IMG_2683 This is the internal of St Peter's Abbey Church. Not far form this place is the graveyard where Mozart's sister Nannerl was buried.

Not to be missed is Hohensalzburg Fortress, we have to take a cable car up the fortress.  Up at the Fortress you get a panoramic view of SalzburgIMG_2688 IMG_2691 This is the trolley or cable car thjat we took to go up to the Fortress.

IMG_2719 Well how we wish we could spend more time in Salzburg. But all good things must come to an end as we only have one day in Salzburg we have to rush back to Vienna because the next day we were flying back home via Zurich.
